    What it measures

Each CT Index holds a basket of coins. For every coin, we compare its price change over the last 90 days with Bitcoin's. The reading is the share of coins that did better, from 0 to 100. A reading of 60 means 60% of the basket beat Bitcoin.

    How to read it

    ZoneReadingWhat it means
Season75 to 10075% or more of the basket beat Bitcoin. The basket is leading.
Transition26 to 74Neither side leads clearly.
Bitcoin Season0 to 2525% or less of the basket beat Bitcoin. Bitcoin is leading.

    How it is calculated

    • Each coin's return runs from 90 days ago to today. Bitcoin's return over the same days is the bar.
    • A coin counts only if it rose strictly more than Bitcoin. A tie does not count.
    • If fewer than 80% of a basket have price data, we publish no reading instead of a partial one.
    • The readings update once a day.

    The three baskets

    • CT Alpha Index: Pure blue-chip quality leaders. 5 coins.
    • CT Altcoin Index: Quality Alpha leaders plus high-potential Beta assets. 19 coins.
    • CT Blockchain Index: Blockchains developers can build on, across L0, L1 and L2. 24 coins.

    Questions

What is the altcoin season index?

It shows whether altcoins are beating Bitcoin. Each CT Index takes a basket of coins and counts how many rose more than Bitcoin over the last 90 days. The result is a share from 0 to 100.

Is it altcoin season right now?

Check today's readings at the top of this page. A reading of 75 or more means altcoin season for that basket. A reading of 25 or less means Bitcoin season. Anything between is a transition.

How are the CT Indexes different from other altcoin season indexes?

Most altcoin season indexes use the top 50 or 100 coins by market cap. The CT Indexes use three chosen baskets instead: blue-chip leaders, those leaders plus high-potential coins, and blockchains developers build on. So you can see which part of the market leads.

    Is this financial advice?

No. The indexes describe what the market did. They do not tell you what to buy or sell.
